Automobiles and related products

Following 7+4 product strategy since 2015, BYD continues stretching its product mix by offering passenger vehicles and commercial vehicles with different features designed for various fields.

Technology Advancement

Blade Battery

Compared with ordinary lithium iron phosphate and ternary batteries, blade batteries perform better in terms of safety, volume utilization, cycle life, and structural strength.

Cell-to-body (CTB)

CTB technology integrates batteries seamlessly into the car's body, forming a strong "sandwich" structure, allowing the loading of more battery cells within a limited space, thereby increasing the battery capacity and providing electric vehicles with longer range capabilities.

E-platform System

E-platform 3.0 not only further integrates and standardizes core components, but also builds a brand-new body structure, digital and electrical architecture, and a revamped vehicle operating system.

Autonomous Driving

BYD obtained a conditional testing license for L3 autonomous driving on high-speed roads in Shenzhen in July last year, making it the first car company to receive such a license in China. Despite advantages in China, there's a still long way to go in the global market.

Hydrogen Fuel

To mitigate the risk of other emerging clean energy fuels powering cars, in 2018 BYD has partnered with US Hybrid Corporation (USHC) to develop the first ever hydrogen-electric bus. The research continues. On April 12, 2022, BYD applied for and was granted a patent for "storage tank mount, hydrogen storage device and automobile", and its patent abstract shows that this patent belongs to the field of fuel cell vehicle technology.
